Excavation of a possible standing stone at Ledbeg

Travel Through Time on the LDAP Tardis Bus!

We’re exploring thousands of years of Assynt’s past, staing with the Neolithic period (c. 4000-2500BC) at Ledmore and Ledbeg. We’ll explore the cairn and take in other archaeological sites on the way to a free lunch! Then we’ll spend the afternoon in pre-clearance Glenleraig before nipping back to the Iron Age at Stoer. Bus leaves Bay View car park at 10.30am, returning to the present in Lochinver at 3.30pm. Places are strictly limited so please register in advance. Guided tour of Clachtoll Broch

Join us on a stroll through prehistory at Clachtoll Broch. Meet at Clachtoll car park at 2pm, returning to the present at 4pm (or we’ll meet at Stoer Hall if the weather is too bad to visit the broch).

10-4 Lochinver Village Hall: Pre-clearance crafts

Carding, spinning, carding, spinning, knitting, weaving, felting, basket making, fishing net making – with Gaelic songs, tattie soup, a photo show, a reconstruction of the longhouse and a session on some of the finds made during the dig.

7.30pm onwards, Drumbeg Hall.

A talk about the Glenleraig pre-clearance house followed by a ceilidh featuring James Graham singing Assynt Gaelic songs.

Not to be missed! All welcome.

‘Tombs or Temples?’ A guided walk around the chambered cairns of Ledbeg.

‘Living on the Edge in the Iron Age’, a guided walk around Clachtoll’s Iron Age sites. Clachtoll beach carpark, 10 am.
